Description
u'For so long forgotten, the history of Hexavalent Chromium Industries was discovered on an ancient data core retrieved from a mysterious wreck found drifting in deep space. After months of painstaking restoration of the almost completely destroyed memory paths an amazing discovery was made. The ship wreck was found to be one of the first to ever cross into the New Eden galaxy, an original ship from the old world, and even more amazing - of old Earth itself!
From the incomplete history restored it seemed that those ancient explorers had kept the name of Hexavalent Chromium as an historical anachronism, maintained and perpetuated through a sense of tradition long after it had ceased to have any relevance. But the company had prospered, reached out into the stars of the old galaxy and finally New Eden itself so that the name was kept almost as a good luck charm, seen by all who pushed forth in the name of HCI as a proud banner proclaiming a long history of corporate power and riches. Those ancient old Earth corporate moguls were revered in a form of ancestor worship \u2013 those who once peddled Hexavalent Chromium were the very epitome of the corporate ethos of the ruthless pursuit of profit.
What happened then is unknown, but the name of Hexavalent Chromium disappeared from the history of New Eden. Was it corporate greed and a relentless quest for power that finally destroyed them from within? Where they destroyed by external enemies and erased from history? Or did the fabulously wealthy traders and miners that ran HCI discover wormholes before anyone else in New Eden and simply move to another universe? We may never know, and it was not until our own small band of deep space salvagers came across this ancient drifting ship from the past that the name was re-born.
A small but bold group of entrepreneurs, miners, industrialists, traders, explorers, blockade runners and some time pew pewers, we are Hexavalent Chromium Industries and we are in it for the money!'
