The Industrial Safety and Hazard Investigation Bureau is an independent, non-government organisation which operates in all areas of New Eden. The Bureau enforces a number of strict safety policies on corporations conducting mining operations in high-security systems. Corporations found to be in violation of safe mining practices may face a corp wide investigation which may subsequently result in fines. Refusal to adopt safer mining practices and/or unpaid fines will result in harsh consequences.

*HIGH-SECURITY MINING OPERATIONS SAFETY ACT*
- Unsecured, unanchored containers cannot be used for the storage of ore in high security systems.
- The use of such illegal storage containers is a criminal act.
- Members of the public are encouraged to contact the Industrial Safety and Hazard Investigation Bureau with any information they may have regarding unsafe mining practices.
