- | We are Gladius Minervus! | |
- | ......and like the patron goddess whose name we borrow, we strive to exercise wisdom in both commerce and war. Gladius Minervus was founded by a group of friends who, after many years of friendship, formed themselves into a Board of Directors to engage in trade when lucrative and combat when necessary. Our primary activities are counter-piracy patrols, mining, mining security, fleet operations, and manufacturing. We are always looking for new brothers in commerce and arms willing to aide us in our fight for fair trade and against those who prey on it. If you are a miner, a hot shot combat capsuleer, or just someone looking for a good, prosperous time in a tight knit corporation message myself, Orphious Achasse (Vice Chairman of the Board), Dindil, (Fleet Commander and Chief of Manufacturing), or Markonus (Chief of Mining Operations) to inquire! | + | SPECIAL WARTIME COMMUNIQUE: |
| | | |
- | Hope to see you around the verse! | + | Because I value my reputation, and that of my corporation, I always post an explanation as to our wartime decisions so that our neighbors do not misunderstand them. Below, please find an open diplomatic letter to all our neighbors in the Piekura-Uosusuokko region. |
| | | |
| + | Recently, a disagreement broke out between us and our former allies with the Celestial Cartel over a collective security agreement. Some time ago, we were at odds while competing for control over several Custom's Offices, then held by defunct corporation. When fighting reached a stalemate, we agreed to assist each other in securing the POCOs and to help protect them from attack once secured. This agreement proceeded well for a time but later, due to internal strife within G-MIN, necessity shifted our priorities and we no longer had any interest in continuing our high sec presence or holdings. |
| + | |
| + | Immediately upon this status change, I provided notice to our allies of our intention to restructure our holdings and negotiated in good faith with CECA's Diplomat for the sale of the POCOs -at cost- ahead of our departure for a new system. Following this negotiation, I briefly left the Eve Universe and assumed all was proceeding as planned. |
| + | |
| + | Later, for whatever reason, the deal was never executed by our successors. Instead G-MIN was subjected to an unprovoked attack by CECA, our former allies, without any attempt to reach out diplomatically. We believe this attack was founded on a bad faith hope or belief that CECA could catch us off guard and take the property they had previously agreed to purchase. |
| + | |
| + | After I reached out to find a diplomatic solution, CECA gave me an ultimatum, forsaking the contract for sale and claiming rights to the POCOs on the basis that we violated our collective security agreement; the very same agreement I understood to be amended by said contract, Due to our current relative shortage of active members, I responded in kind by threatening to hire mercenaries to equalize the difference in numbers and defend our POCOs if the original agreement was not honored, or some other diplomatic settlement was not reached. CECA enthusiasitically rejected this offer, and proceeded with their aggressive threats, leaving me no choice but to pay for the defense of our assets. |
| + | |
| + | I made the decision to deploy these assets with full intention of fighting along side them and giving them strict rules of engagement to prevent any dishonorable exchanges. As our former allies, I believed we owed CECA that much, even if they disregarded promises made by their previous Diplomat. |
| + | |
| + | Despite the tremendous costs this war will mean for us, we are proceeding to fight as a matter of principle. Bottom line, any corporation who does not empower their diplomat to do business --or worse, rebukes deals made in good faith by that diplomat-- does not deserve to profit from such decisions. G-MIN is committed to the ideals of fair commerce and trade, and it is our official position that these actions by our former ally threaten and make a mockery of both. It is for this reason that we intend to carry on hostilities against CECA into the foreseeable future, until a good faith settlement is reached which accounts for past injuries, or a surrender is achieved. Any and all parties who wish to join us in this fight, and who are willing to honor our rules of engagement are welcome to contact me. |
| + | |
| + | Moreover, all parties with interests in these systems be warned: with these recent actions, CECA has made it abundantly clear that thier leaders prefer to make policy by abandoning fidelity in favor of force. There are good people in CECA, but until such time as they reign in their aggressive leaders, I advise caution in any business dealings with this organization. |
